I surprised this group of pronghorn during a winter chukar hunting trip to the Pueblo Mountains of southeastern Oregon. There were snow flurries that stuck in the higher elevations and, when it snowed on us, it came down sideways - the strong winds stinging our faces. That kind of weather invigorates and inspires me. Once the pronghorn spotted me, they gracefully ran away disappearing over a nearby ridge. I couldn't wait to paint this area and the experience of running into such amazing animals!!
